As political campaigns worldwide face growing scrutiny over economic promises, public trust and democratic accountability, Nigeria’s governing party is preparing to make its case for another term.
Across established and emerging democracies, election campaigns are increasingly judged not simply by political personalities or party loyalty, but by their ability to address inflation, employment, security and economic opportunity. For Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, the 2027 general elections will provide another significant test of public confidence in political leadership.

Prince Ade Omole
Against this backdrop, Prince Ade Omole, a Renewed Hope Advocate and member of the leadership of the Diaspora Directorate, has welcomed the newly announced Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing its composition as a combination of experience, discipline and national representation.
In a statement issued through Renewed Hope Global, Omole commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership under Professor Nentawe Yilwatda for what he described as a coordinated approach to campaign preparations.
“I congratulate Mr President on assembling a Council that combines seasoned hands with fresh energy. It shows a leader who listens and knows that a national mandate must be won with a national team,” he stated.
He congratulated Vice President Kashim Shettima, named as Council Vice Chairman; Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General; and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Secretary, alongside other appointees.

Omole maintained that the campaign would prioritise policy discussions rather than personal attacks.
“Nigerians deserve a campaign of substance. We will not trade in noise, distraction or abuse. We will speak to the facts, account for what has been done, and set out clearly how we intend to improve the lives of Nigerians,” he said.
The diaspora dimension could prove particularly significant. With millions of Nigerians living abroad and contributing through remittances, investment, professional expertise and international networks, political engagement beyond national borders remains an important feature of Nigeria’s democratic development.
Omole pledged constructive engagement with overseas communities.
“We will listen, persuade with facts and build bridges, because Nigerians in the Diaspora are partners in nation-building and deserve to be treated as such,” he declared.
For the governing party, the challenge will be translating campaign assurances into measurable proposals on economic recovery, security, infrastructure and public welfare, while opposition parties prepare their competing visions.
According to the statement, President Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the Council on 14 October at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, ahead of a proposed campaign launch in Kaduna on 24 October, followed by Port Harcourt and Maiduguri.
