Title: The People Have

Congratulations to Donald J. Trump on his sweeping victory in the United States election!
This outcome reinforces a powerful message: the will of the people prevails, even against a tide of mainstream media narratives that seek to sway public opinion.
For years, Trump has been labelled with every disparaging term imaginable “fascist,” “villain,” and worse while being cast as a figure of fear and division.
Yet, the American people have chosen him, showing that they value authenticity over media-driven characterisations.
The message here is clear for politicians worldwide: people are fed up with double-talk and broken promises. Voters want leaders who mean what they say and do what they promise. In a world of polished sound bites and spin,
Trump’s straightforward approach resonates because it’s rare. For many, the appeal of Trump lies in the fact that he doesn’t just say what people want to hear; he speaks with conviction about what he believes, without bending to trendy narratives or avoiding tough issues.
It’s easy to see why so many citizens feel disconnected from their leaders today. The left often promotes a vision of ease and distraction, suggesting that life’s problems can simply disappear through entertainment, music, and empty promises.
Yet, these distractions don’t address the real, everyday concerns of the people rising food costs, soaring gas prices, stagnant wages, and inflation eating away at household budgets. For most, these are the concerns that really matter.
As a Nigerian, I see a critical lesson in this U.S. election for our own leaders. Politicians in Nigeria would do well to heed this moment, understanding that genuine leadership is about listening to the people, prioritising their needs, and delivering real results.
I myself entered politics in 2020 as a candidate for the Edo Governorship election, unknown in Nigeria but determined to represent the people’s interests. Out of 14 candidates, I placed 5th – a result that further fuelled my passion for public service. I would do it all again because I believe that politics should be about what the people want nothing more and nothing less.
In this fast-changing world, it’s vital that leaders realign with the moral fabric that binds us all. Political leaders must regain the trust of their people, focusing on issues that truly impact lives.
Chaos, division, and superficial solutions can no longer be the order of the day. The people have spoken, and their voice matters. It’s time for a new era in politics, one grounded in accountability, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the public good.
