St. Marks Worship release Christmas single
‘King Became Homeless’
Following their debut EP in April, St. Marks Worship is releasing a Christmas single ‘King Became Homeless’ written by Worship Pastor Andy Shelton. The song is due for release on 27th November 2020.
About the song
Andy Shelton, St. Marks Worship Pastor, about the single:
‘King Became Homeless’ was inspired by a GK Chesterton poem called ‘The Home of Christmas’. I heard it read at a carol service and was captivated by the theme. Home is at the heart of the Christmas story. Jesus left his throne in Heaven to be born in a lowly stable, He left his glorious home to become homeless incarnate with us. Christmas and ‘home’ are so woven together, whether our experience of home is good or bad, there’s a longing in all of us for home, a place where we belong and are fully known. That is the invitation of the Gospel to come home to the Father. That is what this song is all about, Jesus became homeless to make a way home to the Father and there’s a place at the table waiting for you.
St. Marks Coventry is part of the HTB (Holy Trinity Brompton) network of churches and was planted in 2016 by Gas Street Church the home of Worship Central.
St. Marks Worship represents the worship community of St. Marks Coventry, led by worship pastor Andy Shelton alongside worship leaders Matt Ford and Hannah Hodges. ‘King Became Homeless’ was produced and mixed by musical director Stefan Schlag and mastered by Dave Plumb (Gas Street Church).
