As the Nigerian people wakes up will follow and see the President Elect foe the 2023 presidential elections.
Prof. Mahmood M. Yakubu the INEC Chairman, after almost four days delay had around 4am on today, Wednesday declared Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the former Lagos State Governor as the winner of the election.
Sen. Tinubu, 70, wins in 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, and secured significant numbers in several other states and as the INEC rules, to claim the highest number of votes — 8,794,726, almost two million votes more than his closest rival — in PDP, the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party among others.
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I congratulate His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory. Elected by the people, he is the best person for the job. I shall now work with him and his team to ensure an orderly handover of power,” spokesperson Garba Shehu quoted Mr Buhari as saying.
“The election was Africa’s largest democratic exercise. In a region that has undergone backsliding and military coups in recent years, this election demonstrates democracy’s continued relevance and capability to deliver for the people it serves.
“Within Nigeria, the results reveal democracy’s ripening in our country. Never has the electoral map shifted so drastically in one cycle. In the presidential elections, states in all regions across the nation changed colour. Some amongst you may have noticed my home state amongst them. The winning candidate did not carry his own home state either. That happens during a competitive election. Votes and those that cast them cannot be taken for granted. Each must be earned. Competition is good for our democracy. There is no doubt the people’s decision has been rendered in the results we look at today.”
The President also wrote on the reactions of the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (Atiku Abubakar) and the Labour Party (Peter Obi) on their alleged INEC compromises and calling for the cancellation of the 2023 election.

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr Buhari also commented on the reactions of the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (Atiku Abubakar) and the Labour Party (Peter Obi) who accused INEC of compromise and called for the cancellation of the election.
“That is not to say the exercise was without fault. For instance, there were technical problems with electronic transmission of the results. Of course, there will be areas that need work to bring further transparency and credibility to the voting procedure. However, none of the issues registered represent a challenge to the freeness and fairness of the elections.
“I know some politicians and candidates may not agree with this view. That too is fine. If any candidate believes they can prove the fraud they claim is committed against them, then bring forward the evidence. If they cannot, then we must conclude that the election was indeed the people’s will – no matter how hard that may be for the losers to accept. If they feel the need to challenge, please take it to the courts, not to the streets.
“However, to do the latter means they are not doing it in the interest of the people, but rather to inflame, to put people in harm’s way and all for personal, selfish gains.

“After a degree of polarization that necessarily accompanies any election, it is now time to come together and act responsibly. I call on all candidates to remember the peace pledge they signed just days before the election. Do not undermine the credibility of INEC. Let us now move forward as one. The people have spoken.” he concluded.

JAGABAN, THE LION, IS HERE!! CONGRATULATIONS
Fake prophesies were churned out. Men of God left the shores of spirituality into the realm of predictions. Doctored opinion polls were released to set agenda for the wrong narratives. They mocked him, called him names, but the strategy in him kept his eyes on the ball. He was the candidate for all Nigerians, not cocooned into any geopolitical flirtation. He went round the country and refused to be detained by the same faith accusation that dogged his part. He toiled through the night and day, insisting that religion should not be a determinant for our collective governance process and growth. He was resolute in his belief that religion must not be allowed to shape our political trajectory, but instead, accountable leadership that is strong on delivering the promises to the people.
Today, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, BAT, has just been declared as the democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari. Asiwaju Tinubu is an idea whose time has come. They introduced naira swap as obstacles on his path. They brought sufferings onN igerians because they wanted a public anger that will affect his chances. But, the man remained undaunted, even to the point that he had to criticise his own party. He trudged on, like a collosus that he is, preferring to remain focused and undistracted. That is the way of great leaders.
Jagaban, the master strategist of quintessential emanations, congratulations in multiple folds. This victory is deservedly fecund and essentially fulfilling. It will bring stability to the geopolitical dynamics of the North-South divide. It is a victory for democracy. It is a victory for justice, fairness and equity. It is a victory for hard-work and diligence. It is a victory for collective responsibility and constructive engagement. I am very convinced that a Tinubu presidency will bring a new positive dimension into our governance process.
Asiwaju Tinubu should be magnanimous in victory. He should use his rich network of influence to rally round Nigerians for robust national conversations that will deepen democracy, and enhance national cohesion. He needs all the centripetal and centrifugal forces to strike balance in our national engagements. His victory has shown that Nigerians are not detained by religion and tribe. He should be fair to all in order to cement national solidarity. He should reach out to the candidates of the PDP and Labour Party to tap from their ideas in the interest of building our nation.
Atiku may want to escape to Dubai again, Asiwaju Tinubu should prevail on him to spend more days and time in Nigeria instead. Asiwaju should try to rehabilitate Dino Melaye, Yakubu Dogara, Babachir Lawal, Daniel Bwala and Najaatu Mohammed, and make them better, responsible, trustworthy and reliable citizens, than the ignoble role they played hiding under religion. I am very convinced that Asiwaju Tinubu’s government will be driven by ideas and initiatives that will help proffer solutions to our challenges and renew hope for a greater Nigeria.
Asiwaju Tinubu, the Jagaban of the universe, congratulations, congratulations. It is a victory well deserved.
