Nasarawa 2027: Former National Leader Declares Governorship Ambition, Targets Economic Growth

A governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress, Jibril Sabo Keana (JSK), has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election, unveiling a development-driven agenda focused on economic growth, security, and inclusive governance.

Speaking at the ADC Secretariat in Keana, JSK presented his Letter of Interest before party leaders and supporters, stating that his ambition is rooted in a commitment to reposition Nasarawa State and restore public confidence in leadership.

He noted that despite its rich potential since creation in 1996, many citizens are yet to fully benefit from good governance, particularly in areas of security, education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

JSK emphasised Nasarawa’s strategic proximity to Abuja as a major advantage, describing the state as a natural extension of the Federal Capital Territory with strong potential for housing, agriculture, and industrial expansion. He said his administration would focus on unlocking these opportunities to create jobs and drive sustainable development.

Central to his campaign is an eight-point agenda which includes community-based security, transparent governance, infrastructure development, education reform, agricultural support, healthcare improvement, women’s economic empowerment, and stronger collaboration between government and traditional institutions.

He described his ambition as a “covenant of action,” focused on improving the lives of ordinary citizens across the state.

Calling for support, JSK urged the people of Nasarawa to embrace a new direction, stating that the 2027 election presents an opportunity to reposition the state for growth and shared prosperity.
