The Minister of Foreign Affairs has commended ADSI Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Ltd on the innovations of producing and promoting made-in-Nigeria products, especially the Wonder Stove, Diamond Blocks and Ekwe Nche Tea.
This was part of the highlights at the International Convention Centre, Awka, Anambra State, on Friday, 24th May, 2024, during the Sensitization Workshop on ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) organized by the ECOWAS National Office and Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event was built on the theme: “Exploring the Benefits of ETLS in the Region;” and it witnessed a mammoth crowd of participants as well as high-power delegation of personalities from within and outside Anambra State.
Prominent amongst the personalities at the workshop were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, ably represented by Onowu Obinna Chiedu, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, represented by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajuyi; the Honorable Commissioner for Industry, Anambra State, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Markets and Parks, Chief Evarist Ubah, the Director of Industry, Mrs Josephine Ebo-Nwosu, plus a host of other dignitaries from various parts of Nigeria.
The Director of Industry was instrumental to securing an exhibition stand for ADSI in her determination to market made in Anambra brands.
She joyfully led the high-profile personalities to the ADSI exhibition stand.
As a matter of fact, the Exhibition Stand of ADSI MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY captivated most of the delegates as they showed open, irresistible admiration for the products on display.
The representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Onowu Obinna Chiedu and his entourage were particularly thrilled as the Wonder Stove was put to functional display and Ekwe Nche tea being served with water boiled with the stove to the admiration of the audience.
The Minister having witnessed the display commended ADSI Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd for the innovative, “This is good and highly commendable,” he said.
He also followed up with procuring the Wonder Stove and other items on display at our stand to the tune of N70,000 (Seventy Thousand Naira only).
Some of the people on his entourage and a few others also patronized ADSI by making purchases of our products.
It was a very remarkable event where various regulatory agencies did their best to sensitize the audience on the urgent need to explore the export window to grow our economy as well as the imaratives of standardizing Nigerian made products to meet required export quality.
Among the regulatory agencies represented were National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration (NAFDAC) and the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON)
Also conspicuously present in the meeting were members of the Manufacturers Associations of Nigeria (MAN) as well as various entities within the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises category.
