The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced plans to arraign former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, alongside Joel Adoga, before the Federal High Court of Nigeria on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, over alleged corruption-related offences.
The announcement was contained in a notice signed by John Okor Odey, Head of Media and Public Communications at the Commission.
According to the ICPC, the case, filed under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, involves charges including conversion and possession of public property as well as money laundering.
In a related development, the Commission also filed another case against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule of the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA), also known as LEDA, at the Kaduna State High Court. The case is listed under suit number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26.
The charges in the state court case include abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage.
The anti-corruption agency stated that both cases were filed on March 18, 2026, and confirmed that the former governor has been duly served with court processes.
While the arraignment date for the Kaduna State High Court case has not yet been fixed, the Commission said the court would communicate the date in due course.
The ICPC reiterated its commitment to due process and the rule of law, stressing that all cases handled by the Commission are pursued in line with legal procedures.
