COMMENDING EXEMPLARY POLICE OFFICERS WHO SERVED IN NIGERIA – DELTA STATE, AS A CASE STUDY

Delta State has been fortunate to have dedicated and courageous police officers who have served with distinction, commitment, and a zero-tolerance approach to crime. Among these officers are those whose service and impact deserve special recognition. Their dedication has contributed immensely to the safety and peace of the state, and their exemplary conduct is worth celebrating.

DIG Galadanchi Dasuki is a notable and refined police officer who served in Delta State as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). A trained detective with zero tolerance for crime, DIG Dasuki is one of the finest officers of his era. His approach to policing is marked by professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to upholding the rule of law.

AIG Mohammed Ali Ari, during his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Delta State, maintained sustainable peace across the state. While serving in Warri ‘B’ Division, he significantly reduced crime in Okumagba Layout and Edjeba areas. Known for his accessibility, Ari’s phone lines were always open to the public, reflecting his commitment to community engagement and prompt response to emergencies. Even though he has moved on from Delta, his impact remains unforgettable.

CP Mu’azu Usman Mohammed stands out for his impressive service across the three senatorial districts of Delta State. From his roles as DPO in various divisions such as Akwukwu-Igbo, Asaba, Ekpan, Enerhen, and Ovwian-Aladja to Area Commander in Warri, Mu’azu demonstrated outstanding skills in crime prevention, community policing, and tactical operations. His open-door policy and personal engagement with the public made him a beloved figure. A seasoned crime fighter, Mu’azu’s expertise has been instrumental in reducing violent crime to its lowest levels in Warri and its environs.

Other distinguished officers include DCP Mohammed Bashir Abubakar, who made significant strides in crime reduction as Area Commander Warri, and ACP Solomon Iriemi, known for his commitment as DPO Otu-Jeremi in Ughelli South. ACP Eyoh Aniete earned the nickname ‘DPO SLAP’ for his aggressive approach to crime, while ACP Fasugba Temitope Olajire and CSP Rimamchirika Musa Bulus are recognized for their relentless fight against crime in their respective jurisdictions.

DCP Lawal Adamu Shinkafi served as Area Commander Ughelli and is noted for his proactive policing and zero tolerance for crime. Similarly, ACP Joseph Anche, Area Commander Burutu, is another exemplary officer whose efforts in crime-fighting are commendable.
