Wanis International Foods marked its remarkable 60th anniversary in style at The Londoner Hotel, celebrating a legacy that began in 1964 during the revolutionary era of the Sixties. The event drew notable guests, customers, suppliers, and the extended Wanis family, showcasing the company’s unparalleled contribution to Britain’s food industry, bringing authentic flavors from Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean to dining tables across the UK.
A Legacy Built on Family and Vision
pIn a heartwarming speech, the matriarch of the family reflected on the incredible journey from humble beginnings to the present day. “We are family,” she proudly stated, echoing the sentiments of love and unity that have carried Wanis through the decades. From a small shop on Holloway Road, founded by Tulsidas Wadhwani, the business has grown into one of the UK’s leading wholesalers of world foods, with over 200 employees and a commitment to cultural connection through food.
Her sons, Kapil and Sanjay, paid tribute to their father’s vision of creating a bridge between cultures, allowing communities to stay connected to their roots. “Our father’s belief in the power of food to connect people is at the heart of Wanis’ success,” said Kapil. “Today, we continue that legacy, proudly serving diverse communities and helping to keep the flavours of Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean alive in the UK.”

Together, we continue to dream bigger and aim higher.”
