U.S. envoy and Nigeria’s information minister align on promoting press freedom and enhancing strategic communication to support national security.

The Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, Keith Heffern, has held talks with Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, aimed at تعزيز media freedom and strengthening bilateral cooperation on counterterrorism communication.
The meeting focused on enhancing information-sharing strategies and promoting a free, responsible press as a pillar of national security and democratic governance.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting a safer, more secure, and well-informed Nigeria through closer collaboration in the media and communication sectors.
