Team Presents 50-Page Strategic Performance Report to Federal Government

Support groups, diaspora networks and citizens’ initiatives can play a valuable complementary role in advancing a country’s national agenda. In the UK, USA and across Africa, governments often benefit from organised citizens and diaspora communities using their networks, expertise and relationships to promote national interests, attract investment, build international partnerships and communicate a country’s development direction. When properly aligned with government policy, such initiatives can extend a nation’s reach without replacing the responsibility of government. The Renewed Hope Global Tour is presented as an example of this citizen-led support for Nigeria.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, His Excellency Senator George Akume, CON, has commended the Renewed Hope Global team as an “epitome of patriotism” after the team, described as champions of the Diaspora, formally presented a 50-page Strategic Performance Report on its global tour to the Federal Government.

The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), OSGF, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, was also present.

The report was presented at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Three Arms Zone, Abuja, on Friday, August 28, 2026. It documents the activities, outcomes and strategic opportunities arising from the Renewed Hope Global Tour across four continents and eight global cities, including New York, London, Dubai, Zurich, Windsor, Cotonou and Toronto.

The delegation, led by Prince Ade Omole, whom President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has described as the “face of the Nigerian Diaspora,” formally handed over the report to the SGF. The initiative, chaired by Ambassador J. K. Adebola, MNIM, MCICN, carried the Renewed Hope message across the four continents, creating platforms for high-level engagements, international outreach, diaspora interaction, strategic partnerships and the promotion of Nigeria.

What particularly impressed the SGF was not only the scale of the tour, but how it was achieved.

More than 38 senior officials of the Renewed Hope Administration participated at different stages, including governors, ministers, directors-general, heads of government institutions and senior Presidential advisers. Remarkably, the entire exercise was undertaken without a single penny of Federal Government funding.

Presenting the report, Prince Ade Omole explained that the tour was driven by the conviction that citizens who believe in their country can contribute their time, networks, resources and expertise to project Nigeria positively around the world.

He said the team deliberately created meaningful engagements to showcase Nigeria, communicate the direction of the Renewed Hope Administration, strengthen relationships with strategic stakeholders and deepen engagement with Nigerians in the Diaspora.

The disclosure that such a wide-ranging programme had been undertaken without government funding drew a strong reaction from the SGF.

In his remarks, Senator George Akume said:

“You are the epitome of patriotism. The work the team has carried out has never been done before, where devoted citizens embarked on such ambassadorial, humongous tasks without asking for a penny.”

The SGF’s remarks highlighted the initiative’s defining feature: a major international undertaking driven by personal commitment, sacrifice and belief in Nigeria.

The 50-page report provides a consolidated record of the tour, including major engagements across four continents, participation by senior government officials, meetings with international stakeholders, diaspora interactions, opportunities identified and recommendations for sustaining the gains.

For the Renewed Hope Global team, the presentation represented more than the delivery of a report. It was the formal submission of a body of work that took the Renewed Hope message beyond Nigeria’s borders and brought Nigerians and international stakeholders together around the country’s development story.

Speaking on the significance of the exercise, Prince Ade Omole said the team was determined to document the lessons, relationships and opportunities generated during the tour and make them available to the Federal Government.

He described the initiative as an effort to “take Renewed Hope to the world, showcase Nigeria, build partnerships and deliver prosperity.”

The delegation led by Prince Ade Omole comprised Dr Abubakar Zauro; Dr David Adesanya; Dr Wole Aboderin; Dr George Agbakahi; Dr Amiebenomo Pauline; Dr Sylvia Okoro; Dr Michael Tomori; Lady Peace Akinjo; Hon. Ariko Ejiro; Hon. Aisha Ololade and Hon. Tokunbo Idris Oladeinde.

Also present from the OSGF were Hon. Alistair Jude Oduah, Dr Olusegun Adeyemi Adekunle and Hon. Mohammed Hakeem.

The presentation followed a structured one-hour programme comprising the arrival and reception of the team, introduction of the delegation, welcome remarks and statement of purpose by Prince Ade Omole, presentation and formal handover of the Strategic Performance Report, remarks by Senator Akume, a vote of thanks and a commemorative group photograph.

The Renewed Hope Global team said the report marks an important milestone and provides a consolidated account of a tour conceived as a citizens-led contribution to Nigeria’s international image, partnerships and development agenda.
