The April 5, 2025 edition of the Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference brought together Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to engage on one of the most pressing issues affecting national development—education.
The highlight of the session was the keynote address by Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education, who delivered a powerful and insightful presentation on the theme “Education and National Security: Tackling Out-of-School Challenges and Renewed Hope Reforms.” Dr. Alausa outlined bold and practical steps being taken to transform the sector under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
His address covered strategic plans to reintegrate millions of out-of-school children into classrooms and to equip graduates and final-year students with vital technology skills, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and machine learning. He also announced upcoming collaborations with the National Open University of Nigeria to expand digital learning access nationwide.
One of the most exciting initiatives shared was the introduction of a Diaspora skills-matching dashboard—a platform designed to link skilled Nigerians abroad with local institutional needs. Dr. Alausa also discussed reforms to the NYSC program, the strengthening of education quality assurance, and the use of media advocacy to promote the importance of education.
The session was not only informative but also interactive, with Dr. Alausa responding openly to questions beyond the event’s theme, reflecting a growing culture of transparency in governance.
The conference welcomed high-level government officials including Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, CFR, Chief of Staff to the President, and Chief Babatunde Ogala, SAN, OFR, among others. Special thanks were extended to Dr. Chidinma Ogwo Madinma, who anchored the session with professionalism and poise.
With thousands of participants joining from across the world, this platform continues to grow as a bridge between the Nigerian government and its people. It highlights ongoing reforms, addresses concerns, and helps shape public opinion in a constructive and patriotic direction.
Gratitude was also extended to media partners including BEN Television (UK), The Reflectors Newspaper (Nigeria), and Parrot Reporters Media Limited (South Africa) for amplifying the message and supporting nationwide coverage.
As the conference looks ahead to its next session on Saturday, April 12, the team will soon unveil the next VVIP guest. The Renewed Hope Town Hall is not just an event—it’s a movement. A movement to build unity, spread awareness, and renew belief in Nigeria’s future.
Together, let’s renew hope. Together, we will build the Nigeria of our dreams.
Hon. Kayode
