Cotonou, Republic of Benin — What began as a calm morning in the coastal city quickly evolved into a defining moment of regional political and economic engagement, as the Renewed Hope Global Tour (Benin Edition) delivered a powerful convergence of vision, leadership, and cross-border collaboration.
Hosted at the prestigious Tulip Hotel, the high-level gathering brought together an influential mix of presidency officials, agency heads, diplomats, royal fathers, policymakers, investors, and members of the Nigerian diaspora. United under the theme “Renewed Hope Beyond Borders – Unlocking Prosperity Through Regional Integration,” the event transcended the traditional conference format, emerging instead as a dynamic platform for policy dialogue and strategic alignment.
Setting the tone was the Global Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, Ambassador J.K. Adebola, whose opening remarks framed Nigeria’s evolving role within the regional and global landscape. His address emphasised not only policy direction but a broader sense of national purpose, projecting a confident vision of Nigeria as a catalyst for economic cooperation and shared prosperity.
The programme quickly transitioned into its core engagements, featuring a lineup of distinguished speakers shaping Nigeria’s reform narrative. Dr Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General and CEO of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, presented an ambitious roadmap centred on sustainable energy and solarisation initiatives, highlighting innovation as a driver of inclusive growth.
Complementing this, Dr Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Director General of the Renewed Hope Home Grown School Feeding Programme, delivered a compelling account of grassroots impact, illustrating how policy frameworks translate into tangible benefits for millions of citizens.
Providing a macroeconomic perspective, Dr Tope Fasua, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Economic Matters, offered a data-driven analysis of Nigeria’s economic trajectory, positioning the country as increasingly competitive within the global marketplace.
A highlight of the event was the first panel session, which brought together key policymakers including Dr Abdullahi, Dr Adebowale, Dr Fasua, Dr Dayo Israel (APC National Youth Leader), and Dr Abubakar Zauro (Special Adviser on Financial Inclusion). The discussion, marked by depth and candour, explored the implementation and measurable outcomes of the Renewed Hope Agenda, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to accountable governance.
The second panel session shifted focus toward investment opportunities, featuring leading voices from the Republic of Benin’s business community. Their perspectives underscored Nigeria’s growing attractiveness as an investment destination, reinforcing the importance of regional integration as a pathway to shared economic growth.

Prince Omole
One of the most symbolic moments of the day was the official unveiling of the book “Tinubu is Key – 2027 Continuity Blueprint.” Reviewed by Prince Ade Omole and formally launched by Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), the publication was presented as a strategic framework for sustaining policy continuity and national development momentum.
The event reached its emotional peak during the Awards and Recognition segment. In recognition of outstanding contributions, Dr Mustapha Abdullahi received the National Energy Transformation Leadership Award, while Dr Princess Aderemi Adebowale was honoured with the Community Impact and Humanitarian Service Award. Their brief but heartfelt remarks reflected a shared commitment to service and national progress.
As proceedings concluded, Hon. Wale Adeyemo, alongside G6 leadership in the Benin Republic, including Ambassador Kayode Oguntuase and Hon. Lawal Usman, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to participants and reaffirming the importance of sustained collaboration. The rendition of the Nigerian national anthem provided a fitting and symbolic close to the formal programme.
Beyond the stage, however, the true impact of the event continued to unfold through networking engagements, strategic discussions, and the forging of new partnerships. It became evident that the Cotonou edition of the Renewed Hope Global Tour was not merely an event, but a declaration of intent — signalling a new phase of regional engagement anchored on economic cooperation, policy innovation, and shared prosperity.
Adding to the significance of the gathering, feedback from stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive. In the words of Dr Michael Tomori, a respected voice in Nigeria’s policy space:
“Your contribution towards the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is humongous. You are patriotic and deserve recognition at the highest level. May Nigeria succeed.”
As the curtains fall on the Benin edition, one message resonates clearly: the Renewed Hope Global Tour is gaining momentum and redefining Nigeria’s engagement beyond its borders. With each new chapter, the initiative continues to build a narrative of confidence, collaboration, and forward-looking leadership.
The journey, it is clear, has only just begun.
