Contrary to reports making the rounds that the Department of State Services DSS has arrested and detained two journalists working with Channels Television on account of the Interview with the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, the security agency has come out to debunk the rumours.
Reacting to the claims on Thursday, The Public Relations Officer of the Agency Dr. Peter Afunanya in a statement said the news is fake and should not be taken seriously
The single Paragraph statement also cautioned the peddlers of fake news to desist from the act.
in his words, ” The attention of the DSS has been drawn to news making the rounds in some sections of the media that its operatives earlier today (26th August, 2021) arrested two (2) journalists of Channels Television. This is false and misleading. Fake news peddlers should shun the act.”
