All is set for sons and daughters of Owu kingdom, family and friends, well wishers and Nigerians in diaspora to gather in Vienna Australia to celebrate one of their own, an astute diaspora community leader and philanthropist Engr. Oluyemi Ogundele who will be celebrating his 65th Birthday and retirement in Grand style on Saturday 18th, October 2025.

According to a statement released by the event planning committee, the double celebrations and Thanksgiving will hold at Lotus event centre 22 HIRSCHSTEHNER Street 43 Vienna ,Austria , starting from 18:00 hours .

Engineer Oluyemi Olawale OGUNDELE, a mechanical and multimedia

engineer was born in Lagos, Nigeria on October 18, 1960.

He is from Osupori compound, Owu, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

He attended Surulere Baptist School, Lagos and Baptist Boy’s High School,

Abeokuta, Ogun state before proceeding to Europe to study Mechanical

Engineering at the Higher Technological Institute, Vienna, Austria. (TGM/HTL)

He was officially awarded the “Engineer” title by the Austrian Ministry of

Science and Technology in April of 1993

Studied Peace and conflict resolution at the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and

Conflict Resolution (ASPR) and started his professional career as a Technician with the United Nations

Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna Austria, before

joining the private sector, where he worked with Niedermeyer AG. of Austria, as a quality control officer.

Engr. OLUYEMI Ogundele After spending a meritorious eleven years in the private sector, he returns to the international arena by joining the International Atomic Energy Agency as a

Multimedia/Electronic Engineer, a position he holds till date until retirement.

He is a recipient of numerous awards amongst which are:

The prestigious NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, in 2005 (An award he received

together with his colleagues at the International Atomic Energy Agency

for their efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation, the use of Nuclear Energy

for military purposes and to ensure that nuclear energy for peaceful

purposes is used in the safest possible way).

Peace Ambassador (Universal Peace Federation) 2016

He also received the Nigerian Student Union Merit Award in 1993.

ODUDUWA Leadership Award in 2008.

Award of Excellence for outstanding leadership quality by Nigeria
