Taraba Govt House Renamed After T.Y. Danjuma

Lt. Col. Agbu Kefas
Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially renamed the Government House in Jalingo, the state capital, after former Minister of Defense, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma. This decision was announced during a special ceremony held on Friday in Jalingo, with Governor Kefas highlighting the immense contributions of General Danjuma to both Nigeria and Taraba State.
Kefas lauded the retired general for his dedication to national service, philanthropy, and commitment to the development of Taraba State. The renaming came following a recent legislative session in which the state House of Assembly passed a bill recognizing Danjuma’s vital role in the state’s growth. His significant contributions to various sectors, including security and development, were central to the decision.
General Danjuma expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and urged Nigerians to set aside differences and unite for the country’s rapid progress. He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence across political, tribal, and religious divides. Danjuma also encouraged the people of Taraba to support Governor Kefas’ administration in advancing the state’s development.
