Nigerian former Head of the nation during a transitional period, Chief Ernest Shonekan has died.
He was the person who headed the Interim National Government after the annultion of the MKO Abiola’s election succeeding General Ibrahim Baban gida before General Sani Abacha took over.
As the equivalent of Head of State or President gorvened the country between August 26 and November 17 1993 as the Interim Leader.
Chief Shonekan was confirmed dead in Lagos at the primed age of 85.
He was Chairman of UAC Conglomerate for several years among other companies.
Chief Ernest Adegunle Oladeinde Shonekan GCFR, holds the title of Abese of Egbaland from 1981, lawyer and statesman.
