The Lagos State Government is set to commemorate the year 2021 Africa Industrialisation Day/Young Africa Industrialisation Week from Tuesday, 23rd November, 2021, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
In a statement released on Monday, the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. (Mrs.) Lola Akande, stated that the four-day event, which will be declared open by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is themed “Industrialisation Africa: Renewed Commitment towards an Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialisation and Economic Diversification”.
She said the event will showcase new initiatives in the industrial sector in Lagos while encouraging more contributions of the sector to the overall economic growth and development of the State and nation.
The Commissioner noted that the event will feature the presentation of model projects designed by students across the State and new initiatives of Young African Industrialists.
She further explained that the Industrialists’ Week will provide a platform for exhibitions, daily lectures and paper presentations by erudite scholars on topical issues affecting industries and the public presentation of the award of excellence to outstanding industrialists in the State.
While commending African Industrialists for their creative science based researches and fabrications exhibited in previous years, Dr. Akande emphasised the State Government’s commitment to promoting policies and providing infrastructure that would encourage sustainable growth and development of the industrial sector.
