Kebbi Assembly Speaker Ankwai Dies, Tributes Pour In
The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Usman Ankwai, is dead.
Ankwai, who served as the lawmaker representing Zuru Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly passed away late on Monday night. He emerged as Speaker following the inauguration of the 10th Kebbi State Assembly on June 8, 2023.
As of the time of this report, the cause of his death has not been made public.
News of his passing has sparked widespread reactions, with colleagues, political allies, and residents of the state mourning his loss and paying tribute to his role in advancing legislative work in Kebbi.
The family is expected to release details of his burial arrangements in due course.
