Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State was among state leaders who attended a meeting of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum held in Abuja, where key national issues and inter-state collaboration dominated discussions.

The meeting, which took place at the Forum’s headquarters in Maitama, was chaired by the NGF Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Bago, popularly referred to as the “Farmer Governor,” actively participated in deliberations alongside his counterparts, as the forum examined pressing socio-economic and governance challenges confronting the country. The governors also explored strategies aimed at strengthening policy coordination and improving service delivery across states.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor, Bologi Ibrahim, the meeting provided an opportunity for Bago to deepen partnerships with other sub-national governments, particularly in areas that impact development and welfare in Niger State.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum serves as a platform for peer review, policy alignment, and collective action among state governments on national priorities.
