Deputy Senate President says intervention aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, targets grassroots economic support

The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has distributed 47 vehicles and 287 motorcycles to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North Senatorial District, in what he described as a move to strengthen grassroots economic empowerment.

The items were allocated to APC local government chairmen, secretaries, and other party stakeholders across the district.

Speaking through the Kano State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Salihu Sagir Takai, Barau said the initiative aligns with the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is aimed at improving livelihoods at the community level.

Takai, a former governorship candidate in Kano State, said the intervention reflects efforts to translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits for citizens, particularly in addressing poverty and economic hardship.

He noted that the distribution of vehicles and motorcycles is intended to enhance mobility, support small-scale economic activities, and create income-generating opportunities for beneficiaries.

“This is not the first time we are carrying out such an intervention, and it will certainly not be the last,” he said.

Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Senate President, Prof. Muhammad Ibn Abdullahi, described the initiative as a capital-intensive programme designed to promote self-reliance and uplift beneficiaries economically.

He urged recipients not to sell the items but to deploy them productively to improve their standard of living.

Barau’s media aide, Shittu Madaki, said the distribution followed a careful selection process, adding that additional empowerment programmes are being planned to further support constituents in the district.
