A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, April 27, 2026, dismissed an application filed by Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha seeking to be joined in an ongoing suit instituted by Rt. Hon. Amobi Ogah against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CV/1308/2025 and presided over by Justice M.G. Umar, centres on a request by Ogah for an order of mandamus compelling INEC to conclude its investigation and initiate prosecution over alleged forgery of election results linked to the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency poll.

Onyejeocha, through her counsel, had approached the court for leave to join the proceedings. However, the court ruled against her application, holding that the matter could be effectively determined without her inclusion.
The dispute over alleged election result forgery has been a recurring issue in the protracted legal battle between both parties, spanning the election tribunal and the Court of Appeal, where judgment had earlier been delivered in favour of Ogah.
During proceedings, INEC reportedly distanced itself from the results presented by Onyejeocha at the tribunal, maintaining that the documents did not originate from its office, while affirming the authenticity of the results submitted by Ogah.
Reacting to the ruling, Ogah’s lead counsel, Umeh Kalu, SAN, described the decision as consistent with both the law and the facts before the court. He argued that Onyejeocha was not a necessary party to the suit, as the issues could be resolved between the applicant and INEC.

Counsel to Onyejeocha, represented by John Agim, SAN, said the legal team would review the ruling and determine their next course of action.
The latest decision adds to a series of legal and political victories recorded by Ogah in his contests with Onyejeocha, including the 2023 House of Representatives election and subsequent appellate court proceedings.
