The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, undertook the renovation of Gwiwa Community Hospital and reunited with lifelong friends in the Gwiwa Low-Cost Community, where he spent his formative years.
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Director of Defence Information, announced in a statement on Wednesday that the CDS inaugurated the project during his visit to his childhood neighborhood on Dec. 25, coinciding with his birthday celebration.
Gusau emphasized that the CDS’s gesture of inaugurating a hospital project within the community reflects his strong commitment to enhancing the well-being of the residents.
General Musa also paid a visit to Mallam Yahaya Abdulkareem Model Primary School, where he received his primary education from 1974 to 1980.
“Adopting a community-centric approach, General Musa spearheaded the renovation of Gwiwa Community Hospital, fostering connections with old neighbors and childhood friends,” remarked Brig.-Gen. Gusau.
“The community conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the CDS through placards, expressing appreciation for the newly revitalized hospital facility.”
Highlighting the events leading up to his birthday celebrations, General Musa generously distributed hampers and financial support to ailing personnel at the Defence Headquarters Hospital after attending a church service.
