Mazi Godson. Azu
It was a great moment of celebration and appreciation, as Ohaneze Ndigbo UK General Assembly, led by its president Chief Engr. Stanley Okechukwu, the Ime-Obi in Council led by Mazi Obidike, Ndi Ichie, Nze na Ozo Igbos UK led by Onowu Nkpor Chairman of Nze na Ozo Uk, and Ohaneze Ndigbo Women Wing, on Sunday 22/07/2023 held a well organised reception party for the new Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide President General, Chief. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu in the City of London.
An occasion that was graciously attended by great Igbo men and women, traditional rulers, traditional title holders, young and old, captains of industries and community leaders from across the United Kingdom, among such Igbo leaders present was Real Admiral Allison Madueke Rtd.
This welcoming reception is the first of its kind and the very best put together by Ohaneze Ndigbo UK chapter, for any President General, which is a great honour and privilege indeed to have Chief Iwuanyanwu amongst his kinsmen in the diaspora, a huge sign of recognition and complement of Ndigbo in the uk.
Chief Engr. Stanley Okechukwu, the president of Ohaneze Ndigbo UK, welcomed the President General to UK, on behalf of all Ndigbo, who then presented a certificate of recognition and appreciation which was jointly presented to the PG, by the leader of the Ime-Obi In Council and leader of the Women Wing, in return for this good gesture.
The PG, Chief Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu CFR OFR MFR who thanked the organisers, Ohaneze Ndigbo UK, and all Ndigbo for honouring him with the wonderful reception, and offering him the great opportunity to speak with Ndigbo in the United Kingdom maintained one strong message to Ndigbo by assuring that his government will serve Ndigbo, home and abroad, and by working together with Ndigbo in Nigeria and diaspora to liberate and empower Ndigbo for the greater good of AlaIgbo.
He went on to roll out some of his initiatives and programs that he believes would aid this new dynamic Ndigbo dream of hope for today, tomorrow and the future, such as; the reawakening and stabilisation of Igbo culture and heritage, the restoration of AlaIgbo as the next best destination for business and investment, the revamping of Ndigbo educational potentials, remodeling and strengthening Ndigbo apprenticeship scheme and entrepreneurial spirit, improving the quality and capacity of Ndigbo communality through strong cooperation and collaboration, with the spirit of our brotherhood.
The PG while commending Ndigbo in the Uk, and around the world, for their resilient and tenacity stared very strongly that Ndigbo has the right kind of men and women that can improve and change the dynamics of AlaIgbo, economically, socially and politically, and that can only get it right when they work together and remain focus on the set goal and objectives of its collective expectations.
The welcome reception was a great success, as everyone present were highly impressed and delighted to be part of celebration. The event ended with the official presentation of the certificates of office to the Ohaneze Ndigbo UK executive members.
