Ogun Agric Commissioner, Odedina to speak on AUDA-NEPAD conference on Financing ATVET in Africa
The Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Adeola Odedina is to join two other Pan African experts to speak on Financing Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training , ATVET in Africa.

” Financing ATVET in Africa: Harnessing Financial Tools to Boost ATVET and linking ATVET with investments “, put together by Agribusiness Facility for Africa (ABF) which is working with GIZ is slated for the 3rd of December,2021 at 8:45 am Nigerian time.
Other two Speakers are , Senior Programme Officer, Human Capacity and Institution Development Division AUDA- NEPAD, South Africa, Mrs. Caroline Nutefpa and Chief of Service of the Funds For Development Formation Professional (FDFP) Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Tieba Quatarra.
The theme of the conference centered around identifying the professionals who are to grow Africa’s agribusiness as well as the importance and the future of ATVET.
Ogun State according to the organisers is considered for the programme due to the agribusiness dynamics of the state as well as the presence of several tertiary institutions in the state.
The invitation reads in part ” It is because Ogun State is the cradle of education with over 20 tertiary institutions and referring to the striking agribusiness dynamic in your state, we want to learn from you and from Ogun State.”
Some of the critical issues that would be dissected at the conference will centre on, financing tool being harnessed to boost ATVET, the role of the private sector in ATVET, how to link ATVET with investments.
Other areas of focus will include,the prerequisites in good governance and transparency to mobilize partnerships, How ATVET can offer high quality training products to attract trainees willing to invest in a qualification, to be paid for either by apprentices themselves or by their companies among other issues.
The event is being organised in conjunction with Afrucan Union Development Agency and the New Partnership for Africa Development, AUDA-NEPAD.
The AUDA-NEPAD promotes Agricultural Technical Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) in 12 AU member states to transform agriculture and promote employability through skills development.
Participating Organising countries for the event include, Burkina Faso,Ghana,Togo, Mali, Cote d ‘ I vote, German, Benin Republic, Cameroun, Nigeria, South Africa,Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, while the range of audience for the event is global.
