Wiltshire Police have charged six men with more than 60 serious sexual offences against a woman, following a long-running investigation into crimes alleged to have taken place over a 13-year period between 2010 and 2023.
Philip Young (49), formerly of Swindon and now residing in Enfield, has been charged with 56 offences, including multiple counts of rape, administering a substance with intent to stupefy/overpower to allow sexual activity, voyeurism, and possession of indecent and extreme images. He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 23 December 2025.
Five additional men have been charged with offences connected to the same victim:
- Norman Macksoni (47) – charged with rape and possession of extreme images.
- Dean Hamilton (47) – charged with rape, sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching.
- Conner Sanderson Doyle (31) – charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching.
- Richard Wilkins (61) – charged with rape and sexual touching.
- Mohammed Hassan (37) – charged with sexual touching.
All five have been released on bail and are due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
The victim, now named in legal proceedings as Joanne Young (48) — the ex-wife of Philip Young — has waived her legal right to anonymity and requested to be named in this announcement. Wiltshire Police and partner agencies are providing her with specialist support.
Detective Superintendent Geoff Smith described this as a significant update in a complex investigation, and thanked those involved in progressing the case.
