Due to popular demand from Nigerians in the Diaspora, the Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) will hold its 2023 virtual conference this weekend. The NDVC chairman and Nigeria’s face of the Diaspora, Prince Ade Omole, will host the virtual event, joined by NDVC executives, two distinguished senators, four House of Reps members, electoral technical specialists and other stakeholders.

The scheduled 2hr session will cover lessons learnt from the previous Diaspora Voting (DV) exercise, the proposed new approach to achieving all-encompassing inclusion for Nigerians in the Diaspora, amendments and additional clauses to the existing DV bill, and other DV-related matters. NDVC made history the last time by fully sponsoring the DV constitutional amendment bill to the 3rd reading phase at NASS.

NDVC also recalls that Prince Omole, Director of the Diaspora Directorate at the time, worked with the Renewed Hope team to develop the Action Plan, which included greater political participation for Nigerians in the Diaspora. Omole spearheaded the inclusion in the action plan and travelled the world to campaign on the same promise.
