In an effort to reduce kidnaping, Assassinations and Banditry in Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Chairman of the House committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Leprosy and malaria control and Hon. Amobi Ogah has called on all security agencies in the Constituency to adopt a different mode of operations in tackling the insecurity in the region, rather than intimidations and humiliations they cause its indigenes.
Hon. Ogah was speaking at a Town Hall meeting with relevant stakeholders as directed by the House of Representative which inaugurated an Ad-hoc Committee to interface with relevant security agencies to reduce kidnaping, Assassinations and Banditry in and around Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government of Abia State.
It would be recalled that Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah on the 7th of July, 2023 moved a motion which states “the need to curb the incessant attacks of kidnappers, assassins, bandits and other criminal elements in and around Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia_ State.”
Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah who also the used occasion to commend the State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for given him a listening ear when he cried unto him on the rising insecurity situation in the region, promised to do more for his constituency as promised during his campaign periods.
The Committee led by Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency also visited Governor Otti on Saturday to brief him on the outcome of their findings.
The Committee particularly commended Governor Otti for dismantling the kidnapping operations and other criminal activities which had festered at the Lokpanta Cattle Market area of Umunneochi, along the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Expressway.
