From the Time of the Late Mariam Babangida a woman who brought so much attention to the office of the first lady of Nigeria with her Better Life Program, other first ladies after her have all made efforts to better the life of women and children across the country with different intervention programs aimed at alleviating poverty and adequate provision of basic healthcare services.

Oluremi Tinubu, the current First Lady of Nigeria, has consistently risen to the occasion by transforming her numerous intervention platforms into a catalyst for humanitarian change. At the forefront of her endeavors currently is the “Renew Hope Initiative,” a multifaceted program that embodies her commitment to uplifting Nigerians and enhancing their quality of life.

Through education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and community development, Oluremi has made significant strides in addressing the pressing issues facing the nation.

While other first ladies in the past concentrated more on empowering Women and the Girl Child, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative and other intervention programs have broken that barrier by making her pet projects about Nigerians generally. Her desire to support her husband’s effort in his RENEWED HOPE AGENDA for Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu a pastor and role model can be described as supportive in all areas of governance.

This is further concretised by her recent intervention and fund raising for the completion of the National Library in Abuja to mark her 65th birthday.

In a country where the number of Out-of -School Children are constantly on the rise due to economic reasons, One of the core pillars of the Renew Hope Initiative is education. Recognizing that education is fundamental for national development, Sen.Oluremi Tinubu has prioritized initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education for all Nigerian children, particularly those in underserved communities. When asked what the future holds for Renew Hope Initiative during the meeting with journalist as part of activities to mark her 65th birthday, the Senator said ” In the coming years, the initiative aims to expand its reach, focusing on sustainability and long-term impact by leveraging technology and innovation, to enhance educational resources, healthcare accessibility, and economic opportunities for all Nigerians.

” The Renewed Hope Initiative is not about me either being in office as First Lady or being in the villa, it has a life of its own, my plan is for it to outlive me as a person. It’s a way of giving back to society ”
