The Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof Saka Matemilola, Oluyalo Otileta 7th has stormed the United Kingdom where Owu indigenes in the diaspora under the auspices of Owu HERITAGE UK trooped out in large numbers to give a rousing welcome and homage to their monarch right from the arrival wing of London Heathrow airport.
The journey to the palace, for Oba Matemilola as 14th Olowu of Owu Abeokuta ,who is also an erudite scholar with expertise in the petroleum sector, began in late july, 2022 when his appointment as Olowu of Owu Kingdom was approved by the Ogun State Executive Council.
Following this, the easy-going but firm and focussed monarch was in ipebi for 3 months, aftermath of which a well attended Coronation Ceremony was held on October 24, 2022.
Oba Matemilola received the staff of office from the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on october 29, last year.
The OWU HERITAGE UK, Association of Owu Sons & Daughters are the major host of Kabiyesi in London.
Highlight of events marking Oba Prof Saka Adelola Matemilola royal visit to the Uk is an Audience evening with Kabiyesi put together by Owu HERITAGE UK which comes up this Sunday 7th of May 2023 in London.
The Nigeria High Commissioner to the UK, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Isola is the chief guest of honour of the occasion starting from 5:00pm .prompt.
