In a massive crackdown on corruption and administrative rot, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries working under the office of the secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF.

Briefing State House Correspondents after a private meeting with the President, chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN said the move follows a startling discovery by the ICPC regarding a fraudulent agency operating right under the nose of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The ICPC investigation blew the lid off a fake entity titled the “National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.”

Despite its official-sounding name, investigators revealed the office was a sophisticated front for unauthorized activities linked to these 3 suspended permanent secretaries.

The President has also ordered the arrest of the man behind the fake agency
George Buchi Nwabueze, which investigation reveals operates under different Identities.

The ICPC discovered that Nwabueze operated using at least five different aliases and titles to facilitate his schemes which includes George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Hon. George Buchi Nwabueze, Prince George Buchi Nwabueze and George Nwabueze

Simultaneously, three high-ranking Permanent Secretaries have been suspended for their alleged connections to the operation they include M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah all in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF

The ICPC boss has confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the “agency’s” operations and how it managed to embed itself within the SGF’s structure.

This bold move by the Presidency is being seen as a clear signal that the current administration will not tolerate “shadow offices” or administrative malpractice within the nation’s highest corridors of power.
