President Bola Tinubu Appoints New Governing Councils for Maritime Academy and College of Aviation Technology

ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of new chairmen and members to the governing councils of two of Nigeria’s leading specialized institutions: the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.

Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron
Kehinde Akinola has been appointed as the Chairman of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria’s governing council. Akinola, an esteemed governing expert, brings years of experience in policy and administration. His leadership is expected to drive the Academy towards achieving greater excellence in maritime education and training. Joining him as council members are Shehu Maigari Doguwa; Samuel Isichei; and Faisal Lawal Halidu, a seasoned industry consultant.

Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria
The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), a prestigious institution recognized for its contributions to aviation training, will now have Anthony Manzo as its governing council chairman. Manzo, who has a background in private sector management and policy, has previously held leadership positions in both public and private sectors. His expertise is expected to further enhance NCAT’s reputation as a leader in aviation education. Serving alongside Manzo are Ngozi Okuoma, policy specialist; Durungunwa Abdulmalik, an expert in administration: Biodun Taiwo, a public strategist with experience in diverse industries; and Florence Toyin Olorunfemi, a professional with a background in management.

In a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Presidential spokesman, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of integrity and dedication from the newly appointed members. He charged them with the responsibility of elevating the structural, academic, and operational standards of these institutions, ensuring they meet global benchmarks in their respective fields.
