Pastor Femi Omowumi of the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT) has said that governments at all levels have failed the Nigerian youths.
He spoke at the Annual Youth Empowerment Programme of the Bariga Branch of the church.
He advised youths to stop waiting endlessly for the government to better their lives.
According to him, youth must find a way to empower themselves legitimately if they must conquer poverty.
He said further that empowering yourself was important to attract God’s blessing because God does not bless an empty hand.
The District Pastor, Taiwo Olaiya said the event was held by the church to help the youths.
Some youths were registered for vocational trainings of their choice with the church paying the cost of the training.
The church bought tools and machines for those with vocational training but lacked the necessary tools to practice what they had learnt.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment programme went home with tools such as sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, ovens and gas cylinders.
