Weeks after the just concluded gubernatorial primaries elections in Ondo state , one of the top contenders for the number one citizen of the state, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has described the process as a mega fraud.

Senator Ibrahim who came fouth at the Primary election conducted by the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) among gubernatorial aspirants in Ondo State on Saturday, 20th April, 2024 stated this in Abuja on Tuesday at a Press Conference.

According to him, the Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Senator Ovie Omo – Agege manipulated primary election , was the biggest electoral fraud in Nigeria that must not be allowed to stand in the interest of internal party Democracy .

The electoral frauds he added, were well captured ward by ward and local government by local government, in the reports obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) , which clearly shows that election did not hold in 159 out of 203 wards and 15 out of 18 local government councils in the State .

According to him, the process was so bad that even as one of the contestants in the election , he was unable to vote , which made him to call the National Chairman of the party , Abdullahii Umar Ganduje , who according to him , sent some electoral officers to his house for him to cast his vote .

In his words, ” However, since my house is not a designated polling unit or centre for the election , I turned down the offer of the electoral officers “.

As a way of ensuring the right thing is done, senator Ibrahim has instituted a litigation against the process.

The litigation , he explained , was initiated within the time frame prescribed by relevant provisions of the 2022 electoral act , and would be sustained up to the Supreme Court.

” Two clear prayers are being sought for , in the court as far as the mega fraud called Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primary Election is concerned.

” The two prayers are (i), that the sham carried out on Saturday, April 20th 2024 , should be cancelled for fresh one to be conducted and (ii) , for delisting of APC from Ballot in the November 2024 Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State “.

The exercise saw the incumbent governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa as the flag bearer of the party for the 2024 gubernatorial election in the state
