Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri broke down in tears on Monday during the burial of his longtime colleague and friend, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Quadri was among family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers who gathered in Ilaro, Ogun State, to pay their final respects to the late Yoruba actor.
Emotions ran high as Ogogo’s remains were brought out for the final rites, with Quadri seen struggling to contain his grief before breaking down in tears.
Ogogo was laid to rest in Ilaro on Monday according to Islamic rites, a day after his death at the age of 66.
The veteran actor reportedly died following a battle with stage four cancer.
His burial drew several prominent figures from the Nigerian film industry, who gathered to honour the actor and mourn his passing.
Among those present were Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, Faithia Williams and Kolawole Ajeyemi, alongside other colleagues, friends and members of his family.
Ogogo’s death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans, who have continued to remember his decades-long contribution to the Yoruba-language film industry.
