NNPC Limited recorded a Profit After Tax (PAT) of N535 billion in June 2026, representing a 15.8 per cent increase from the N462 billion posted in May, despite a slight decline in crude oil production.
The figures were contained in the company’s June 2026 Monthly Financial and Operations Report released on Friday.
According to the report, NNPC generated N4.389 trillion in revenue during the month, while cumulative statutory remittances to the Federation between January and June 2026 rose to N6.286 trillion, highlighting the company’s growing contribution to government revenue.
Crude oil and condensate production dipped marginally to 1.72 million barrels per day (mbpd) in June from 1.73 million barrels per day recorded in May.
NNPC attributed the decline to operational disruptions, facility integrity challenges and subsurface issues affecting several producing assets.
In contrast, natural gas production continued its upward trend, increasing to 7.841 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) from 7.774 mmscf/d in May, representing a 0.86 per cent growth.
The report also showed significant progress on two of the country’s major gas infrastructure projects.
The Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline has reached 98 per cent completion, with final tie-in works underway ahead of the planned commencement of First Gas in August 2026.
Similarly, construction of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline advanced to 94 per cent completion, keeping the project on course for the planned commencement of gas supply to Abuja later in 2026.
The latest financial performance underscores NNPC Limited’s improved profitability and continued investment in critical gas infrastructure aimed at boosting domestic gas supply and supporting Nigeria’s energy transition agenda.
