Hundreds of dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers from within and outside Nigeria converged on Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday to celebrate and pay their last respects to the one of foremost health care practitioner in Nigeria Late Princess Victoria Abeun Fakorede Obayomi, née Matemilola, who passed on at the age of 83.

The burial ceremony of the late princess took place at the African Church Cemetery, while the funeral service and other activities were held at the African Church Cathedral, Igbore.Abeokuta .

In a sermon delivered during the service, the Bishop of Egba Diocese of The African Church, David Oyekunle Akinremi, described the late Princess Victoria as a woman of virtue who lived a life anchored on righteousness and purity.

Preaching from the Book of Numbers, Chapter 23, Verse 19, the cleric reminded Christians that life is short and called on believers to embrace righteous living in preparation for eternity, noting that the scripture aptly reflected the life and character of the deceased.

He further urged Christians to turn a new leaf and live upright lives, stressing that eternity beckons for all.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the only daughter of the deceased, Mrs. Kemi Akinbosede, Who is also a senior UK based health care professional, described her late mother as compassionate, accommodating, humble, and deeply responsible, adding that her loss is irreplaceable.

In honour of her mother’s lifelong commitment to the church, Mrs. Akinbosede announced a handsome donations to the church and the diocese, while also pledging continued support to the work of God .

Highlights of the event are intement ceremony, tributes from family and friends who spoke glowingly of the late princess’s kindness and described her as a unifying figure within the family.

Guests were later treated to live band music, a DJ performance, and other forms of entertainment as the celebration of a life well spent .

Princess Victoria Fakorede Obayomi will be remembered for her virtues, generosity, and enduring legacy of unity.
