Mr. Paul Uchechukwu and executives of the various national youth oriented organisations in Nigeria under the Nigerian Youth Decide platform gathered in Abuja, the country’s capital in solidarity rally to remind the national elective seeking personalities to attend the youth debates.
Speaking at the venue, from the Untiy Peace Fountain, Mr Uchechukwu, President Diamond 🔹 Youths who also took part in the rally, said,
“our youths have to decided, rose, and shared the enough is enough mantra by asking and kindly requesting for all most importantly the Presidential Candidatesn to partake in the coming youth’s debate even as majority already indicated their particiaption”.
“I am calling on all meaniful youths, women, leaders and those seeking elective offices to know that every vote counts and every candidate matters, he added.
Nigeria’s former presidential candidates and Aspirants had recently met in Abuja where they called on the government to mobilise and include the youths in the country’s governance and leadership. The meeting with stakeholders was led by a former Presidential Candidate in 2019 and a national party in the centre’s presidential Aspirant in 2023, Dr. Nicholas
Youth’s and women’s representation in Nigeria’s Parliament, is at a lower percentage most recognised among the women at 4%.
Adding voice to the debate, an Abuja and nationally recognised leader, Digital Imam, said the debate is a way for the candidate to really feel and interact with the Nation’s youths whom makes more than 60 percent of the population and even higher in the voting blocks.
Nigeria has seen an increase in the number of youths and women in their quest to participate in the elections and vote more than ever before and according to INEC more than 10 million of the newly registered voters are youths.
The Nigerian youth debates takes place on the 10th December 2022 in Abuja at the Merit House.
