The Nigeria High Commission in London has no link with a viral video on social media as it had officially terminated the appointment of Mr. Enyinnaya Ako-Alulomah, an Ad Hoc staff, following allegations of misconduct.
In a letter sighted and dated November 25, 2024, signed by Ambassador Mercy Haruna-Adeoye, the Commission cited violations of its regulations and reports of illegal collection of money from individuals as the reasons for the termination.
It is important to clarify that Mr. Ako-Alulomah was not a full-time staff member of the Nigeria High Commission but was engaged on an ad hoc basis. His actions were carried out in a private and personal capacity, and the High Commission was not involved in any of his dealings.
A viral YouTube video surfaced on January 31, 2025, in which a woman alleged that she had given Mr. Ako-Alulomah more than £10,000, believing he would help relocate her children to the UK. The High Commission has distanced itself from these transactions, reaffirming that Mr. Ako-Alulomah acted independently, on his own and without official endorsement or collaboration.
The High Commission has urged the public to be vigilant and avoid unauthorised agents who claim to facilitate immigration processes. For verified information regarding visas and relocation to the UK, individuals are advised to contact the Nigeria High Commission directly through official channels.
