November 9, 2024 — The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE) has announced its newly appointed Board Members, aiming to enhance the unity, representation, and advocacy of Nigerian interests across Europe. The new leadership team, selected for their expertise and commitment to NIDOE’s mission, will bring fresh direction to the organization’s efforts in supporting Nigerians abroad and strengthening ties with Nigeria.

The Board’s appointments include:

Alhaji Issa Abdullahi (Switzerland) as Chairman

Vire Komolafe (Ireland) as Vice Chair

Dr. Onyebuchi Egbuchunam (Germany) as General Secretary

Folashade Ope (UK South) as Public Relations Officer

Busola Agboola (Netherlands) as Financial Officer

Each of these individuals has a respected history within the diaspora community, with backgrounds that reflect leadership, integrity, and a passion for community service. As a team, they will spearhead NIDOE’s initiatives and contribute significantly to the overall welfare and unity of Nigerians in Europe.

Founded in 2000 by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation was established with a vision to unify Nigerians living overseas and leverage their expertise, resources, and influence for national development. NIDO has since become a vital link between Nigeria and its diaspora, focusing on issues that impact Nigerians globally and encouraging their active role in Nigeria’s progress.

With a renewed Board, NIDOE is set to carry forward the legacy of its founding, advocating for Nigerians in Europe and promoting collaboration that benefits both the diaspora and their home country.
