NEW CABINETS EMERGES AFTER 2023 ELECTIONS IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬
With the conclusion of the 2023 elections in Nigeria and various cases in Courts, a list of ministerial and commissioners’ positions are finally coming out and available.
The appointments are closely watched particularly by all stakeholders where many expected the emergence of technocrats insteads of professional politicians.
Major ministeries such as the like of petroleum resources and in states where it existed, finance, defence & security and judiciary are key in these coming administrations.
Corporately, the leading names are kept secret with three each from banking, international security & global transportation industries; two each from international organisations on human rights, services, law and order, and women & youths;
The remaining from our reliable sources are few politicians that lost out during the elections but have delivered their constituencies: Other politically assigned slots will go to leader’s choices.
Normally, the appointment of ministers or commissioners allows the president, governors and ruling party leaders get rewards for poll’s victory and for members’ benefits.
The other aspect of the new cabinets are lack of female representation on elective positions which the new incoming administrations want to correct by having women and youths in the appointment lists and or to appoints them in other strong Portfolios and Parastatals.
In general, the lists have a balance of corporate & private leaders plus the career politicians.
The chief executives and president where applicable are expected to announce the full ames to their stakeholders, voters and citizens soonest after all final settlements.
The sudden and fast presentation for ministers and commissioners are understood to be as a result of the readiness to hit the ground running based on merit, professionalism and careful selection process implemented.
Even though the names are yet to be matched with portfolio cabinet offices, there is already public speculation, agitations and demand for an inclusive government of all parties.
