The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has allayed concerns among candidates over its new O’Level result verification process, saying candidates who previously uploaded their results are not required to re-upload them or obtain a new verification code.

The Board made the clarification following numerous complaints and enquiries from candidates who uploaded their O’Level results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, as well as those who uploaded their results in previous years under the former process.

In a statement issued by the Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board said all O’Level results previously uploaded through its platform remain valid and will continue to be recognised.

According to JAMB, candidates who fall into any of these categories are not required to take further action regarding the newly introduced verification code.

The Board explained that the new verification arrangement was introduced to strengthen the integrity of O’Level results and prevent the presentation or acceptance of falsified results in the admission process.

JAMB further clarified that candidates whose results were uploaded under the previous system would not be disadvantaged by the introduction of the new verification process.

It said such results would remain available on the Board’s portal and, where necessary, would be subjected to the appropriate verification by the respective tertiary institutions during the admission process.

The Board therefore urged candidates not to panic or undertake unnecessary repeat uploads simply because their O’Level results were submitted before the introduction of the new verification arrangement.

“Candidates who have previously uploaded their O’Level results do not need to re-upload their results or obtain a verification code again,” the Board stated.

JAMB assured all affected candidates that their previously uploaded results remain valid and will be available for consideration in the admission process, subject to the required verification by their respective institutions.

The clarification is expected to ease concerns among thousands of candidates who feared that failure to obtain the new verification code or re-upload their results could affect their admission prospects.
