Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN) Advocates for Unity and Global Cooperation at Seminar
Abuja, Nigeria – July 30, 2024: The Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN) hosted a successful seminar today at the Scorpion Officers Mess, Wu-Bassey Barracks in Abuja, focused on promoting global cooperation and harmony to address poverty, fraud, and inequality. The event, themed “A World United For Change: Ending Poverty, Fraud, and Inequality Through Global Cooperation and Harmony,” brought together esteemed speakers and participants from various sectors.
The seminar featured a keynote address by Mr. Musa K. Chantu, a former Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA). Mr. Chantu emphasized the importance of peace and harmony for global development and urged nations to respect international charters and promote peaceful conflict resolution.
Amb. Dr. Omini Elizabeth, the Founder and Harmony General of HCN, highlighted the transformative potential of global cooperation and harmony. She stressed the need to empower marginalized communities, promote transparency and accountability, and foster a culture of inclusivity. “To achieve the Nigeria of our dreams requires unity in diversity, recognizing that individual struggles are interlinked,” she said. “We must harness the power of global cooperation, share knowledge, resources, and best practices, and support one another in our quest for a better world.”
Brig. Gen. Bassey (Rtd) also addressed the audience, encouraging a positive outlook and integrity in daily life to combat fraud.
Goodwill messages were delivered by several notable figures, including:
Evang. Prof. C.J. Osim, CEO of AFF Landport Global Estate Ltd, who discussed various forms of poverty driving fraudulent activities and emphasized values and love for a productive Nigeria.
H.R.M. Igwe Prof. Chukwuemeka Ugwunta, National Grand Patron of HCN, who called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to officially recognize the HCN for its national contributions and peace initiatives.
Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe and National Global Grand Patron of HCN, represented by Alhaji Rajab-Naibi Abdulrahman, urged the Federal Government to integrate the HCN into the public service to create employment for Nigeria’s youth.
Amb. Alistair, NIDMECORP CMDT, praises the efforts of HCN and called on the citizens to buy into opportunities that unites, uplifts and create an enabling environment for national growth.
Additional support and commendations were echoed by representatives from the Airforce and Navy, as well as security and forensic experts, all advocating for the official recognition and support of the HCN by the government.
The seminar marked a significant step in HCN’s ongoing efforts to promote national unity, peace, and development. The organization remains steadfast in its mission and looks forward to positive outcomes from the discussions and advocacy efforts made during the event.
