ADELEKE, SOUTH WEST GOVERNORS, DANGOTE, OTEDOLA, TOP DIGNITARIES TO GRACE CORONATION OF OWA HAASTRUP IN ILESA

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, alongside his counterparts from the South West region, is expected to lead a distinguished array of dignitaries to Ilesa, the cultural heart of Ijesaland in Osun State, for the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III, as the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland. This was shared according to the Chairman, Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, Chief Shola Oshunkeye, FNGE.

The coronation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 23, 2025, and is anticipated to be a grand event, drawing national and international attention.

Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s public and private sectors. A former Deputy Chief of Staff to President Olusegun Obasanjo, he has also served as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and the Osun State University Governing Council. His distinguished career spans public service, governance, and business, earning him widespread respect across the country.

High-profile dignitaries from various walks of life have confirmed attendance at the historic event. Among them are Africa’s richest man and Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Mr. Femi Otedola, who made his mark in commodities and energy.

Also expected are several federal ministers and top government functionaries.

Giving an update on the preparations, the Vice Chairman of the Coronation Committee and Ajirowa of Ijesaland, High Chief Lateef Bakare, expressed confidence in the successful hosting of the ceremony.

“We are ready,” he said. “By the grace of God, Ijesaland will witness a spectacular coronation ceremony.”
