The Executive Governor of Kogi State, , has paid a condolence visit to respected elder statesman and retired military officer following the passing of his younger brother, Barrister Kabiru Fadile.
Barrister Kabiru Fadile, a former Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, died over a month ago. During the visit, Governor Ododo described the deceased as a passionate advocate for the rule of law, a committed democrat, and a dedicated servant of his community whose contributions to grassroots development will be remembered.
The Governor also paid tribute to Colonel Bello Fadile (Rtd), describing him as a distinguished Nigerian patriot whose sacrifices and service to the nation remain indelible.
“Col Fadile is a reservoir of experience and wisdom whose contributions to Nigeria and Kogi State will continue to inspire generations,” Governor Ododo said.
He commended the retired officer for his longstanding commitment to community development, youth empowerment, and agricultural advancement, noting that his leadership and advocacy have played a vital role in shaping positive initiatives within the state.
Colonel Bello Fadile is widely respected as a former Nigerian Army officer, author, and public affairs commentator who has contributed significantly to national discourse on governance, democracy, and national unity. Over the years, he has remained an advocate for Nigeria’s stability and development, frequently offering insights on leadership, security, and national policy.
Beyond his military career, Col Fadile is also known in intellectual and civic circles for his writings and commentary on Nigeria’s political evolution and governance challenges. His voice has remained influential in discussions on democracy, national cohesion, and responsible leadership.
Governor Ododo described the late Barrister Kabiru Fadile as a devoted community leader whose passion for justice and development earned him the respect of many across Kabba/Bunu and beyond. As a former local government chairman, he was recognised for promoting democratic values and strengthening local governance.
The Governor offered prayers for the repose of the departed soul and extended the sympathies of the government and people of Kogi State to the Fadile family.
Responding to the visit, Col Bello Fadile expressed gratitude to the Governor for his humility and for identifying with the family during their period of mourning.
He commended Governor Ododo for his leadership and commitment to governance since assuming office, noting that the visit brought comfort to the family at a difficult time.
The Governor was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, Hon. Sanni Egidi; the Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi.
