Katsina State government has began a sensitization programme to all the local government areas in the state on the need to identify talented youths in all fields of endeavours.
The Katsina National Talent hunt Challenge was sometimes launched last year 2020 by the Executive Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari with the aim to harness the potential of the teeming youths in the state. By its collaboration and demand from the need to engage widely, the government extended the project national and to all Nigerians in the Diaspora towards showcasing their talents, be it in sports, academic pursuit, creative arts, innovation and technologies or in their other fields.
The sensitisation process at the local and state level saw the Katsina National Talent HUNT CHALLENGE team in collaboration with international Mentoring Cmdt Alistair from the United Kingdom in Dutsinma Local government area.
The representative of the State Governor, the Commissioner of Information, Alh. Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirika while addressing the village heads in Dutsinma local government area, asked them to identify and encourage any youth that has talent to participate on the on-going programme by the state government. The engagement and meeting had all the wards and District’s Heads in attendance amongst youths who are ready to participate in the challenge.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Katsina National Talent Hunt Challenge, Mr. Farsal Rafindadi said participants would be selected and trained on different areas of specialization and added that the programme is opened to indigenes and non- indigenes.
The Special guest who was invited by the State Governor, Mentoring Commandant Alistair Soyode shared his experience as a person from Katsina and motivates the youths on their role personally to do well, achieve greater things in life and through that will make their state and country proud. To also shun as well as ran away from any tendency that will impact negatively on them by focusing their minds and energies onto initiatives as KANATA HUNT CHALLENGE. Mentoring Cmdt Alistair is seen around the globe as the first black person to launched black television in its genre in Europe and raised in Katsina State.
The team which includes the CSO, Commissioners and NIdDMECorp will be having the sensitization programme across all the local government areas in the state.
