The FCT Police Command on Tuesday paraded 8 suspects who specialize in car theft, and other criminal activities within the Nigeria Federal Capital.
Parading the suspect in Abuja the FCT Police Commissioner CP Babaji Sunday revealed that the different measures put in place by the command in recent times have led to the recovery of a total of 88 stolen items.
According to CP Sunday, the items recovered include 75 Laptops of a different model, 7 cars, 2 Locally Fabricated Pistols, 1 Projector, 4 Master keys used for vehicles theft amongst others.
CP Babaji said the command has massively deployed personnel to flashpoints within and around the FCT, which included stop-and-search operations, vehicle and foot patrols, and constant raids on Black Spots especially hard drugs spots.
In his words” Furthermore, the command has continued to improve upon his community Policing strategies by regular engaging the community to provide actionable intelligence for proactive policing”
“At this juncture, I want to sound a note of warning to criminal element within the FCT to desist from their nefarious activities or face the full wrath of the law.”
Babaji again reiterated the barn on Tinted vehicle Glasses and covered number plates with the federal capital as violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
The FCT police boss used the medium to appeal to residents of the FCT to be more security conscious and provide timely information in case of emergency to the police.
