Covid-19: Implementing Policies Will Attract More FDIs – NIPC

Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, NIPC has expressed its commitment to ensure that the nation comes out strongly from the impact of the Covid-19 by implementing policies that will attract mores Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) into the country.

The NIPC Executive Secretary, Yawande Sadiku, said this in Abuja during a courtesy visit on her by the newly elected Executive Officers of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN)

The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Richard Adebayo had on September 1, 2020 Inaugurated the new CICAN Abuja Executive Officers after the association’s peaceful election of August 31st.

Ms. Sadiku said CICAN as a major stakeholder has a key role to play in the process of repositioning the nation’s economy affected by the Covid-19 pandemic like every other global economy.

She promised to do everything possible to ensure that the commission leverage on the existing cordial relationship with CICAN to project Nigeria and its enormous potentials as one of the largest market in Africa to prospective foreign investors.

On the issue of training for the association, the NIPC boss said she will do all legitimately within her power to support in impacting as well as equipping the members with knowledge about the workings of the commission.

Earlier, the Chairman, of CICAN Abuja, Frederick Idehai who was relected said the association is committed to ensure that Nigeria sprints out of the devastating effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy, adding that with serious partnership and understanding that the feet would be met.

He however, appreciated the management and staff of the commission for the warm working relationship and synergy with the association so far adding that other agencies under the Ministry need to take cue for the overall Interest of the country.
