BREAKING: Bandits Kill 30 in Fresh Kaduna Attack, Burn Homes and Shops

No fewer than 30 people, including women and children, have been killed after suspected bandits attacked Naridom community in Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attackers reportedly invaded the community between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. on Monday, opening fire on residents and operating for more than three hours. The assault left scores dead, homes and shops destroyed, and many residents traumatised.

A resident, Barnabas Musa, said the attack began shortly after midnight and continued until about 3 a.m., despite frantic calls for help.

“The attack happened in the early hours of this morning. We started receiving calls between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m., and the attack continued for over three hours,” he said.

According to Musa, at least 30 people, including women and children, were killed, while the gunmen also set four shops and two houses ablaze.

Another resident, Comrade Friday Ango, described the incident as one of the worst attacks the community has experienced in recent times.

He alleged that the attackers wiped out the family of a resident identified as Mr. Emma, killing about five of his children during the assault.

“They wiped out one man’s family. They killed about five of his children,” Ango said.
