Federal government has been charged to take decisive action to alleviate the plight of Aero-Politics and pricing warfare by foreign airline operators against Nigeria’s indigenous airlines.
The Executive Director, National Civil Society Of Nigeria (NCSCN), Blessing Akinlosotu who gave this charge while addressing journalists on the state of the Aviation Industry, on Monday described the plight as posing threats to the Nation’s local airlines.
While noting the uncertainty arising from travelers incentives & aggressive marketing strategies, Akinlosotu explained that the foreign airlines are now into dangerous battles for market share that is capable of throwing smaller operators off business while negatively affecting their profit margin.
He added that this uncertainty has hampered the achievement of critical developmental objectives & erode trust in the government ability to to effectively manage developmental initiative.
The Executive Director stressed that the adverse effect of the foreign air operators on our indigenous operators is looming as Nigeria’s economy depends largely on the aviation industry.
The recent commencement of Air peace operations in the Lagos-London route at a low price has sparked a frenzy of actions and reactions by players in the Aviation Industry.
